Event season

As the summer came to a close calendars filled up, clients came to the table. It’s looking to be a very busy fall with plenty of UX, Service Design, Startup and AIGA meet ups.

How then do these organizations capture eyeballs and get the foot traffic necessary to fill their events?

I’ve started to take note of the few I’ve attended in the last couple of weeks:

Timing: Host an event at a time that makes it easy to attend multiple events.

Location: Find spots that are unique, drawing interest regardless of who’s in attendance

Topic: Focus on forward looking topics and the people working successfully at the fringes of it.

Beer: if all else fails offering an apéritif brings in all the people who would head to the bars instead of your event.
