Interesting note from Jason Fried on the future of 37Signals. 37 is no longer 37, it’s Basecamp.
Strategically, the move puts Basecamp in primary focus for the small firm. Exiting from its CRM and other tools allows it to focus on the project management tool that we’ve all come to love and respect. It also opens up new opportunities for its competitors to make inroads in the arenas it has left behind.Back in 2004/5 the AIGA/NY Mentoring Program introduced the beta version of Basecamp to its members. It was so raw that we had access to  the backend coding to skin the system for our use. It was a brilliant system that has only improved with age.I’m looking forward to this next iteration of 37Signals.
